After dispatching all of his adversaries, SRK transforms into a mummy and asks, “Main Kaun Hoon?” (Who am I?) with the expression on those actors’ faces who, due to the enormous demand for remuneration, are brought back to the shows after months in a coma. The usual Atlee drama is heightened when a child tells him, “I’ll find out who you are when I grow up!”
After thirty years, we have the police officer turned Robin Hood, Vikram Rathore SRK. He is taking all the necessary steps that the government ought to take to facilitate citizen life. Is Vikram the same SRK that we first saw now? Or are they distinct individuals? Who are they, if they are different after all? That is the main focus of the plot.
Plot:
Six prisoners, including Lakshmi, Eeram, Ishkra, Kalki, Helena, and Janhvi, hijack a Mumbai Metro train with the help of Azad, the jailer of a women’s prison in Mumbai. In order to request ₹40,000 crore from the Agriculture Minister in return for the lives of the passengers, he bargains with NSG officer Narmada Rai. After learning that his daughter Alia is among the hostages, international arms dealer Kalee Gaikwad consents to finance the transaction. Azad intends to contribute the funds to help 700,000 of the nation’s poor farmers avoid debt. After transferring the money into the farmers’ bank accounts, Azad and his group flee. He tells Kalee that he is Vikram Rathore through Alia.
After seeing Narmada and her little daughter Suchi, Azad marries her. After kidnapping the Health Minister, Azad and his group demand improved facilities at government hospitals in return for the Health Minister’s life. As soon as the infrastructure is improved, Azad and his group manage to leave once more. Following their nuptials, Kalee’s brother Manish kidnaps and torments the pair as Narmada learns Azad’s true identity. Azad is saved by Vikram Rathore, his identical twin. Narmada disguises herself as a prisoner and confronts Azad’s associates in the jail. She discovers the relationship between Azad and Vikram here.
Captain Vikram Rathore served as a commando in the Indian Army’s Special Operations division in 1986. He was dispatched on an operation where defective weapons claimed lives for his team. The young Kalee, who was supplying the firearms at the time, was the target of a complaint that Vikram and his crew filed. The following evening, Vikram and his spouse Aishwarya were ambushed by Kalee, who shot Vikram off an aircraft and divided them. After killing three police officers who were threatening Aishwarya and were employed by Kalee, she received a prison sentence. Declared a traitor to the country, Vikram gave birth to their son, Azad, while Aishwarya was incarcerated.
Before Aishwarya was hanged, she requested Azad to prove his father’s innocence and bring justice to the oppressed when he turned five. Unbeknownst to the outside world, Vikram lost his memory after the incident but lived. In northeastern India, a tribe located him and saved him.
It is revealed that Kalee is the employer of Irani, Narmada’s servant in the present. His attempt to shoot them all results in Lakshmi’s death from gunfire. Accompanied by his father, his squad, and his father’s buddies, Azad murders Irani and takes Kalee’s trucks. The money in the trucks will be utilized to further Kalee’s political aspirations in the next elections. Kalee’s goons capture Vikram and his group. Azad releases a video to the public and states that he has stolen voting machines; he demands the sealing of 253 factories in the country responsible for air and water pollution. The factories are sealed by the government. Kalee arrives and a fight ensues wherein Vikram finally recovers his memory. He and Azad fight together and hang Kalee to death. A few months later, STF officer Madhavan Naik, who helped Azad in the completion of his missions, assigns him a new mission targeting Swiss banks.
Examining The Screenplay:
Looking at Atlee’s career will make you realize that all of them have one very important thing in common: he makes movies that appeal to a wider range of viewers. That’s one of the main reasons Gadar 2 performed so well—it was designed for a demographic that made up more than 70% of Indian moviegoers. Atlee has been doing this without shame for a very long time.
Jawan is made to trigger a “seeti-maar” sequence as soon as you sense it is being tugged. Shah Rukh Khan is clearly having fun while donning each of the many headgear in the movie. For some reason, Shah Rukh Khan seems to go overboard when dubbing for the Hindi version, using somewhat more voice-to-body movement than necessary. Yes, it may remind you of Aparichit, Gabbar Is Back, but this is more of a pure blue masala movie than Gabbar was.
If you were to follow Atlee’s direction style, you would see that he directs multiple films within one. The most significant factor is undoubtedly his emphasis on heroism that is worshipped by fans, which takes precedence over the plot and the screenplay. The action moments, not the slow-motion ones, are where G. K. Vishnu’s cinematography shines. The hand-combats and ground action sequences are where the most intricate camerawork is used.
